This is the Valrico page for roof insurance claim help. The short version: you want to understand whether they have a claim and to not get steamrolled by the adjuster, and you can have it without a salesperson at the door.
Get a written quoteThree-tab shingle from this era is past its life; the replacement will almost certainly be architectural, which earns better treatment at renewal. Most construction here dates from the '80s and '90s, so roofs are on their second cycle and carriers increasingly want to see a replacement date. The hurricane deductible math is a little kinder inland, but a named storm still triggers it, so the date of loss on any claim should be nailed down before filing.
On cost: there is no fee to the homeowner for inspection and claim documentation — the roofer is paid from the approved claim, and your out-of-pocket is the deductible.
A wind mitigation inspection (Form OIR-B1-1802) can lower premiums on any roof and is required for most discounts.
How it works

Roofer. An inspection before you file tells you whether there's enough damage to exceed the deductible and gives you photo evidence dated before the adjuster's visit.
