Mango · Hillsborough County · Insurance
This is the Mango page for roof insurance claim help. The short version: you want to understand whether they have a claim and to not get steamrolled by the adjuster, and you can have it without a salesperson at the door.
Get a written quoteRoof-to-wall connections built to old code are a major wind mitigation factor, and hurricane clips added during a replacement can improve the score. Additions from later decades were often tied into the original roof without proper flashing; those seams are where the leaks live. This is where well-installed architectural shingle is usually the right economic answer over metal or tile, because the wind-rating premium buys less.
On cost: there is no fee to the homeowner for inspection and claim documentation — the roofer is paid from the approved claim, and your out-of-pocket is the deductible.
Insurers can no longer refuse to write a policy solely because a roof is under 15 years old, and roofs older than that can qualify with a passing inspection showing at least five years of remaining life.
How it works
Roofer. An inspection before you file tells you whether there's enough damage to exceed the deductible and gives you photo evidence dated before the adjuster's visit.
The carrier's adjuster inspects the roof and writes a scope. Having your roofer present means damage doesn't get missed and the scope is argued on the spot rather than by letter later.

Mango is inside the everyday service radius, so there's no travel surcharge and no "we'll be in the area next month."
